Frequently
Asked Questions
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
How
do I know I am good enough to a record a CD?
Send us a tape of you singing or your song and we will be glad
to give you our professional opinion.
I'm not sure If I need a producer.
If you need to ask that question then you probably do.
How do I know that I'm not going to be ripped off?
That is why you need to talk to a real producer who has good credentials
and a long track record excuse the pun.
What about marketing and distribution?
Great question. We are all asking that and somehow the concept
of a record deal is not as attractive as it used to be. With the
age of the internet music can get to people a lot quicker but
the down side is that it can leave just as quick. The key is getting
out where the people are and singing your songs or have other
people sing them. Once there is a market established the sales
will follow. Get a great website is the first step.
How important is mixdown and mastering?
Very but you have to start with the song. The lyric and melody.
Then when that works you need a good arrangement and then a good
recording played by good players then and only then is the mixing
critical and the mastering essential because you want your music
to stand up to whats out there.
